Sea damage along the Dame Marie coastline

Project

Coastal Protection & Sea Wall

Rebuilding coastal defenses to protect Dame Marie’s shoreline, roads, and homes from rising seas — one of the community’s most urgent needs.

Back to all projects

Rising sea levels and coastal erosion are destroying roads and homes along Dame Marie’s shore, and a sea wall that once protected the community has already been washed away. New Vision for Dame Marie is working to rebuild and strengthen the town’s coastal defenses so families can live and work safely by the sea. Our very first fundraising event, held in West Palm Beach, Florida, raised more than $10,000 toward this effort — a strong start, with much more still needed.

The problem

Rising seas and coastal erosion are damaging roads and homes along the shore, and the sea wall that once protected the community has been destroyed.

Our solution

Rebuild and reinforce coastal defenses — a sea wall, drainage, and resilient infrastructure — to protect homes, roads, and livelihoods along the coast.

Who benefits

Families living and working along the Dame Marie coastline.
